John Latham serves as a Strategic Acquisitions Advisor for Central Texas on the Investment Committee of Casoro Capital, a single-family office formed to build and preserve wealth through multi-housing real estate investing.  Casoro grew out of a time-tested, vertically integrated, real estate-focused enterprise, which has acquired, managed and repositioned over $1 billion in properties.

As Strategic Acquisitions Advisor, he provides expert guidance on acquisition timing and property selection. With vast underwriting experience, John plays a critical role in validating underwriting assumptions when identifying non-PPA Group investments.  Additionally, responsible for helping Casoro develop and implement its overall investment and value-add strategies at the property level.

John’s expertise in this arena stems from over 13 years of experience in investing, corporate finance, and project development and management, as well as his concurrent position as Chief Investment Officer for Casoro’s parent company, The PPA Group. As CIO, he is responsible for sourcing and managing new acquisitions and developing investment opportunities for The PPA Group and its subsidiaries. He also oversees their investment portfolio and is highly involved in the company’s equity and debt capital raising activities.

Prior to assuming his current positions with The PPA Group family of companies, he served as principal of Steelwood Property Company, where he led all multifamily acquisition and development activities. John has also worked as an investment banker with Banc of America Securities — executing over $3.4 billion in equity and debt financing for the firm’s clients — and has provided his services in a consultant capacity to several real estate investments and private equity companies across the United States.

He holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.
